Paul,
I downloaded the 2.86 update of Firefly today. It loaded into a different directory which I thought nothing of. However, in attempting to use Properties on my .prj file to reset the application asigned to the extension, XP is insisted on not associating FF with the project type files. I can find the FireFly.exe file, but when I click on it the icon is never added to the list of WINDOWS applications.
Here are the steps I take:
1) Right click on CD_APP.prj (my project file)
2) Click on Properties in the menu
3) Click on the CHANGE button on the line with "Open With"
4) Click on BROWSE and find the FireFly.exe
5) Click on FireFly.exe and then on OPEN
XP does not "bring back" FF as the assigned application. .PRJ files are now assigned to the application that happened to be at the top of the list. Nothing I can think of changes the assignment.
I have un-installed all versions of FF and reinstalled. There is no difference after taking this step.
Any guess about what might be going on?
Thanks,
Dwight Scoles
I checked out regedit which showed that FF was still registered using the old directory. After uninstalling version 2.86 and installing with the old directory the assignment of .prj files works again.
