I seem to remember another thread on this topic but a quick look-see
didn't turn it up.
I've been working on a project for several months and saw the post about
GDI & FF over on PB forums. I tried closing the current open project from
the File > Close Project menu then tried to open an existing project using
the Open Project icon. FF closes abruptly. Tried this 3 times and got same
action. Then tried File > Close Project menu and tried to exit FF. Got a
pop-up about unable to read memory at some address. Tried this a few
times and got same response. Also tried File > Close Project menu and then
File > Open Project menu and got same kind of pop-up and FF closed.
I seem to remember having the same kind of problem either late last year
or earlier this year and thought that exiting after closing the current
project fixed it. But no such luck this time around. I'll keep trying.
I'm running on Windows 2000 with Avast anti-virus and SpySweeper
anti-malware. In FF directory, I've got 23 entries in Recent Projects.
If I get desperate then I'll wipe them all out and see if it helps.
Anybody else having problems like this lately?
Yeah i think i posted about this a while back although I didnt know exactly how or when it did it.
I just work around it now.
Yep, I have noticed this as well.
Seems that if you compile the project that you switch to, FF doesn't go away when you switch back. Maybe it has something to do with file handles.
I have found that I cut and paste from one project to another quite a lot and it is a little frustrating when FF goes away :(
I am looking forward to FF3 ;D
Cheers
Still don't know WHY but found the easy way around.
Just uncheck the option to load the last project on startup.
I swore at this thing for 3 hours this morning before I thought of that.
