Title: How do I locate a sub/function in my project
Post by: Andy Flowers on July 08, 2009, 03:12:25 PM
I have quit a number of forms and include files in my project and it is becoming a nightmare trying to remember which sub/function is in which module or form.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to overcome this huge nightmare?
Would really appreciate some help.

Hi Andy,

I know exactly how you feel. Several of my FF2 projects became quite large and sub/function navigation became a huge pain. I made finding sub/functions in FF3 better.... but that really doesn't help you much at this time - sorry.

I have heard of a few customers who use a "grep" type of program that they use to search their form and module files. It is useful and fast but because it is not 100% integrated into FireFly it does takes an extra step.

Thank Paul.

So how is FF3 coming along? Any projected release date? Looking forward to being able to use FF3. Have a rather large project comming up soon. Maybe a pre-release could help.
