Paul,
Installing FF3.03 ver FF3.02 caused my application form that opened to lose the EGRID Pro control. Not a big deal I just added it back. I'll try to remember in the future before running to remove but, if possible. I might be the only one with this issue.
Option 1
If siGrid doesn't exist in the control directory don't install it again.
If EGRID Demo doesn't exist in the control directory don't install it again.
Option 2
Ask the user if they want these controls.
Option 3
Just a dialog reminding users that these controls are installed. This should trigger my memory to delete them.
As posted before I have an issue on my machine, might be because I have DEP ON for all application, where SIGrid causes strange behavior. I have EGrid Professional license, so don't need the demo control which also seems to cause some issues.

I think that for future minor updates that it may be easier to just to provide a simple zip or rar file (rather than a setup program) that the user can unzip (preserving folder structures) and it will contain only the files that have changed since the last update. That way, none of the custom controls or other things are touched.
Yes, I also didn't think of it and had to reinstall after updating. I have no problem with updates just being a zip file. But, couldn't you also make it a 3.02 -> 3.03 install also...just include the files that have changed.
I would also appriciate a zip or rar file. After updating the configuration of my user tools was gone.
