Paul,
I noticed some strange behavior tonight on a program in the early stages. This program has a tab on a tab and all was working fine until I changed the color or the first tab of a child tab control (the tab on the main tab). When I changed the color and compiled, the first tab was fine but the last tab had no label controls visable.
Is it possible this is related to the zorder issue? I am using the original 3.04 file and have not tried the FF_test.exe. If you think this might be the case, I will wait until you release the next update. If you think it might be something else going on, I can take whatever steps needed to isolate the problem.
Thanks,
Gary
I did get a chance to try the updated FF.exe to see if it corrected this problem. The symptoms were still there, but instead of the 1st & 2nd tab displaying normal as before and 3rd having no labels, the new exe caused the 1st tab to have no labels, the 2nd displayed fine and the 3rd had no labels.
I restored back to 3.04 and recompiled and now it seems to be working even after changing the background colors. (This is on a different computer than what I was testing on yesterday...pretty much the same setup though, same op/sys, etc.) :-\
I will continue to see if I can narrow the symptoms down.
Thanks,
Gary
hmmm.... not sure if this would be the zorder issue but given that it works for you on 3.04 then most likely it is. I'll mull this over in my brain for a while.
Paul,
Just to clarify, it was originally acting up yesterday when I was using my laptop (away from home for the holiday) and I was using 3.04. Once I got back home, I downloaded the new FF.exe and tried it to see it the problem was there or not. It was still there, but the symptoms had changed some. So at that point, I just restored things back to 3.04. When I did that, things were working normal. I haven't tried the same project on the laptop today, but I can give that a whirl and see what happens.

Paul,
A little more information..... I sent you a zipped project that displays this problem. I have discovered that if I edit the tab order on each one of the tab child forms, and then re-compile, all seems to be working fine.
Try compiling with no changes to see if you are seeing the symptoms and then try editting the tab order one tab at a time. Re-compile after each tab order edit. When I did this, the labels on each tab were restored with each edit of the tab order.
I don't know if this is any help, but thought I would pass it along.
HTH,
Gary
Hi Gary,
Thanks for the project. It certainly helped me track down the problem. I have sent you a copy of a new FF3 exe to test to see if it works for you. This does seem to be related to the previously reported ZOrder issue. I think that I may finally have the problem fixed. :)
Please let me know.
Paul,
As far as I can tell at this point, it appears this new EXE solved the problem that I was seeing.
Thanks again for all of your effort!
Gary
