As it seems to be the season for thanks, then thanks to you both!

I have been building a FireFly3 application today containing a EGrid and I am really pleased with both of you!

Best Regards,

David

Wow Marc! thats nice! :) I dont understand either the language,
What is the app for? I imagine it has something to do with hospitals or
medicine. :)

You can email me at Egrid32_support@hotmail.com, the other one was stolen.
And i think it was even used by someone to send nasty emails. :(

Thanks to you as well David. :)
What kind of app are you working on?

Thank you Elias and Paul for your kind words.
What the program does:
It has to run on a tablet PC (with stylus) and on an regulair PC. Tablet for registration, PC for statistics.
In our hospital we have a unit that tracks all infectieus germs like MRSA, etc...
So what this unit does is follow a health care worker at a given time. It notes every move he/she makes.
The observer from the unit has to note what a nurse/ doctor/ assistent does. Everything!!!
For example: cleans wound, touches bed of patient, scratchis his nose, cleans hands, takes gloves, etc.
This is a bit like an audit.
A build-in expert system then tells  the score is of the person being audited and give recomendations as to what he/she could do better.
Statistics from a hole ward are also made.

Hope this explaines it, do not hesitate to ask questions.

Marc

That is so cool!

Indeed cool. :)

Incidentally i was watching this documental today:
http://www.onlinedocumentales.com/ciencia_tecnologia/1774-asesinos-microscopicos-pandemia-de-gripe.html

It is in spanish, but talks about the flu and other viral diseases and how are they passed arround. It talks
about how some hospitals have those kind of audits, and they can even find the first person that was diagnosed
with a pandemic illness. :)

I've been using FF daily for a few months now and am satisified with my results. Now that I've got the hang of things I spend less time figuring out the FF interface and more time on the code I'm inserting. My main desire is to be able to copy controls from one form to another and have my custom code go with the copy. I just finished up a non-business day (holidays) wizard and FF made it quite straight forward. Keep the improvements coming!

Ok ill show my apps too. :)

This is a chronology program, it allows user to enter events and watch them in a comparative
time chart, i use it for my bible study. :)

When you highlight a row, representing an event, it highlights green, like in the picture, it is selected the life of Jesus, then you can scroll the scrollbar and the background picture and the description text will change accoring to the selected year. :)

It has categories, like... People (birth and death), Events (start and end), Prophecies (date of spoken word and accomplishment), etc.

Thats the only one on this PC, but i have made a ton of firefly apps. Like a rental manager, a visual designer for Egrid32's forms, code editor for mu phpBAS converter, a store sales point, a cafe internet manager, a karaoke engine, a multi level marketing manager (for Agel) and i forgot what else. but thats like half what i have done. :)

I am often amazed when I see GUI examples other people have created. I usually wonder: How did they do that? What kind of controls did they use to create these effects?
Designing attractive GUI's takes a special kind of talent I think, different from programming. It takes some kind of graphical or artwork talent. I know I don't have it ...  :(  That's why I mainly limit myself to writing dll's   :)   The applications I write needing a GUI are often intended as 'front ends' or as 'examples' of my dll's.
The examples posted are really great.

You can't ??  :o  I can ...  ;D  8)  Sorry, couldn't resist ...  ;)

Kind regards

Hello Elias,

very interesting application, especially when I look at the source material. (It's it 2 p 55 in the English IT.).

Yes - I can only add: "Thank you, Paul, for FF3!" It is a fantastic tool, it really adds up producivity.

Since it seems we have a little showcase of FireFly based applications at this place, here is mine. It is the front end to an taxi dispatching software which contains of a communications server, database server (SQLitening of course), a map virtualization software, a mobile (PockePC/CE) application, and several tools.

Boy - I just had to work on a project for a few days which I had written in a different PowerBasic Designer. Lots of great features but a very poor editor compared with FireFly 3.

What a pleasure to return to work with FF3!
I really appreciate your work and efforts, Paul.

Thanks Rolf - your post made me feel very good today!   :)

I've been a bit slow with updates lately because the summer here is relatively short and I wanted to take full advantage of it.

You need that sometimes. And there is nothing really urgent right now. FF3 is really stable.

I ended up reporting a few issues/bugs in a suggestion thread, but enjoy your summer...I've been working around them.
