Title: Can crash FF on command (obscure method)
Post by: David Kenny on June 01, 2010, 04:48:52 AM
I happened on this one by chance, but I expect not many people will.  It took me a few minutes to figure out what I did the first time.

While editing any form/module code, go all the way to the bottom - till the cursor won't go any more.  I was trying to insert two more blank lines.  I tried to hit ENTER twice.  I fat-fingered and hit two keys together, evidently I hit SHIFT-ENTER, ENTER.

SHIFT-ENTER highlights the entire form code (pretty sure that's not be design). Any keystroke after that that will, presumably, delete the highlighted code - will crash FF. Arrow-keys escape from the highlight and therefore won't crash FF, for instance.

I could not crash it when I manually selected all the text and hit ENTER. And, it deleted the code and produced a new blank line - as expected.

Windows 7, FF 3.07

Added: This is just a bug report and I don't expect a quick resolution. It's not something that will happen often, if at all.

Yes, works very reliable on XP Pro SP3 too, I can reproduce it.

Definitely a bug. I'll work on fixing that.

This is now fixed. Fix will be in the next FF update (3.08).

Oh vacation???? There is still th thing of properties not saving the changes.

Dialog... Window styles... change for example WS_caption... close properties... window styles again... sometimes the styles dont respect your changes until you do it twice.

;D
