Title: FF tooltips on FF icons?
Post by: Mark Carpenter on June 12, 2011, 01:07:29 PM
I'm a recent convert to PB and just picked up FF yesterday. So far I'm liking both quite a bit.

I have no tooltips showing for the FF icons. Is there an option I'm missing? I don't see anything in the help file or on the forum. Win7-64, if that matters.

Thanks,
Mark

I assume you are talking about the toolbar icons.
I use Win XP Pro and the icons are showing the tooltips properly.

Correct Rolf. The toolbar icons across the top for "new project", etc. don't show tooltips.

Welcom Mark!

Mine are also showing in Vista home premium.

Then we're (finally) two with issues in that regard, although I have reported (some time when I was young 8o) that I only see some garble instead of your blanks.

Mine have neither garbled nor blanks. The icon gets the outline (and shading? hard to tell with my eyes), but that's it. No tool-tip pop-up at all.

I use win7 x64 and the tool tips show up fine.

I had reported the garbled tooltips in another thread...I believe it was about button focus and default highlighting from the picture...since there are two with the default button orange highlight.  (I don't think there was ever a solution for 100% of the problem in either case)  Usually restarting FF made everything normal again.  It seemed to happen after running FF for a long time or after getting errors.  Perhaps the problems, although different than the original poster's, are related.  I'm running XP 64bit too, so perhaps it sees the error and shows wrong text and other OS either show it or don't.
