Title: resource files
Post by: Robert Rioja on October 21, 2011, 10:06:02 AM
I added a resource module to my project.  I then entered all the text in that file.  But FF tries to capitalize the words it recognizes as key words.  For example, it might change "and" to "And".  It will do this randomly.  Sometimes it does it for all key words, other times it does it for some but not others.  Sometimes it leaves them alone.  Very frustrating.  I tried yelling at it but it did not listen to me.

I attached the module so you can see that the last time it wanted to play games it changed some words like "frame", "button", "of", "to", etc.  But it left "and" and "is" alone.

Any suggestions?

Robert

hmmm... syntax highlighting and capitalization should be disabled for resource files. That must be a bug that was introduced in 3.5. I'll have to fix that.

Actually, it seems like the highlighting gets disabled once the file is saved and/or reloaded into FF. The highlighting is active when the resource is newly added to the editor but prior to saving. Weird.

I agree, it is weird.  Do you think that you can fix it?

thanks,
Robert

Paul,

I just tried FF 3.51 and the problem persists.  It randomly reformats the text but I cannot figure out when it will do it.  Last time it did it, I had edited the module and saved it by clicking the Save Project icon.  It reformatted the text of the module after it saved it.  So at least what was saved was correct.  It has been difficult to repeat the problem.

? That is very strange. I remember testing the issue and immediately seeing the problem. I'm sure that I fixed it...well, at the time I fixed it but now I'm second guessing myself!  :)

Let me look again....

Will this be fixed in the next release?

Thank you,
