Title: I really need a bigger font in FireFly
Post by: Paul Breen on December 10, 2011, 07:20:59 PM
I would like to request a "large print" version of firefly. The tiny 8pt and less font used in some of the dialogs has made using firefly uncomfortable for me. I use editors that let me customize the size of font in the tabs, menus, and everywhere else so that it is comfortable to read. Using an external editor does not make sense for firefly. The firefly workspace dialog is an example. The properties tab font can be changed in the options but the other tabs have a very small font. I make use of the large icons etc option in the powerbasic IDE but I do not see this option in firefly. I don't know how much trouble this is or if anybody else feels this way but I can't use firefly or any other programs with fonts of 8pt and less for very long. If other people feel this way or if you plan to do yourself in rather than get older than say, fifty (I have passed that mark handily) please let Mr. Squires know.

I second Pauls request. It would be nice to be able to increase FF's font sizes. With todays high screen resolutions, the fonts look very small and my eyes aren't getting any younger ...  ;)

Kind regards
Eddy

Yes, I agree, there needs to be better support in FF for larger fonts and DPI scaling. It is on the priority list for FF4.

I agree with Paul (Breen).

Right now I am having no problems, since I got exchange lenses (cataract operations) in both of my eyes since this summer, and now I am looking at the world with eagle's eyes again. But with the newer monitors with very high resolutions larger fonts are often desirable. I think also MS should consider that for its system fonts (menues etc.).
