They are doing good things with FreeBASIC. I have even noticed v1ctor around a bit more lately.

There is only a very small core group of FB developers with dkl being the primary driver at this point. I love the FB language and the amount of work that has gone into it. I would use it as a "secondary" language for me. Right now, in my programming life I don't know if I want to spend my time creating programmer tools and bug hunting, etc. I would much rather spend my time creating end user applications for business or for my own work. PowerBasic was always 5 to 10 years behind the industry in terms of features and tools. I don't want to spend the next 10 years of my programming life being 10 years behind!  :)
