Title: Error Message
Post by: Richard Marchessault on June 01, 2015, 05:57:51 PM
I keep getting the attached message when I try to compile. Cannot find any existing running application. Rebooted Windows and tried again. Same result. What do I need to do?

That is odd because the name of the application should be in the error message but it is not. If your project is not too big and complicated then maybe you can email it to me so I replicate the problem??

I had converted a small project from PB to FB. I had a folder with the converted project and another with the unconverted project. I accidentally tried to compile the unconverted project and that is when I got the error message. The converted project compiles and runs just fine. So if this is not an issue for anyone else you can just ignore this situation. Sorry to bother you with this.

I must say that the process of converting from PB to FB was not difficult but it was tedious. Many compiles and errors to deal with. Some PB functionality missing that I had to recreate with my own code. Not a problem but very time consuming. I guess that is to be expected when switching from one language to another even when the languages are similar.

I'm undecided about whether to do more with FB or not. FireFly with PB works fine for me. My thinking at this time is to continue to use PB for projects where the development has been completed and conversion would be a huge time waster with no apparent benefit. For new projects I will start with FB as long as I do not encounter any huge road blocks.
