Title: FireFly & Win98 copy/paste problem
Post by: TechSupport on August 29, 2004, 11:25:16 AM
Have any of you FireFly users developing on Win98 noticed any problems when copying/pasting code ?  I have had a report that copying and pasting code in Win98 will occassionaly cause strange characters to get inserted into the code editor. It would also cause any subsequent compile to fail. The copy/paste has also resulted in intermittent GPF's.

I have tried to reproduce this on a Win98 laptop but I have not found a sequence of events that will cause the problem to occur.

Any help in this area would be greatly appreicated.

I've seen this often in JFP when the source of the copy is a Help file.

In the case of the Help file data pasting, all the spaces must be deleted and then replaced to get the compiler to respond.

I've never seen it get the visible characters wrong, but something certainly creeps into the blanks that the compiler doesn't like.  It also doesn't take W98 to see this issue, because I primarily use W2K and it happen again just yesterday.

I believe that I have found the source of this problem. I am now testing the fix. If successful, the fix will be in version 1.07.
