Title: Windows 98
Post by: James Klutho on January 10, 2005, 12:09:09 AM
I have been trying to run firefly 1.10 on my Windows 98 laptop and the program continually locks up and acts very badly.  Has anyone else had this problem?

James, I will privately email you info that *may* help. There was an issue with Win98 and a resource leak that would occur if the Window's color themes were customized. I suspect that if the resource leak is affecting you then FF would act strange and lock up.

I applied the fix you referred to and Firefly seems to work good now on my Windows 98 laptop.  Thanks for such a great program Paul.  I am starting to get into the swing of things and am very please with my purchase and the support after the sale.

Perfect! Happy to hear that everything is now working okay.

I am hard at work on Version 1.11 so hopefully your FireFly experience will only get better and better as the program continues to mature.

Jim has also reported that pasting large amounts of text into the code editor has caused a GPF on Win98. I will have to investigate that as well.
