I've been working with Firefly for about a month now and I am really amazed by what this program is capable of doing. In the past I have worked with Visual Basic for 7 years (the greatest RAD ever created, but too limited) and of course thanks to Firefly's great UI switching wasn't hard for me (only steal from the best).
However, one really small but convenient feature is still missing from Firefly's property list that VB offers: In VB, clicking on an item inside the property list and then typing will overwrite the current property, say I click the caption property and start typing then I will create a whole new caption. In Firefly (right now), however, I have to select the current property text, delete it, and then can enter a new one. Likewise, in VB I can switch through property items which can assume multiple states (say, WindowState) by double clicking on them. I realize this may seem a negligable feature but it actually speeds up the process of setting up new forms and I would welcome it if you included it in the program.
Thank you,
phil
Hi Phil,
Yes, I agree with you 100% on these two requests. I also used VB for many years and see the benefits of them.
Now that version 2 of FireFly is released I should be in a better position to further refine the UI. I will keep you suggestions on my list and see if they can be implemented without too much trouble.
