Title: FireFly program terminates after a Access Violation
Post by: Marty Francom on July 14, 2005, 06:51:12 PM
I have a large application with many forms and inc files.  When I close  the project  and then click on Firefly' "File"  that is when I get the following message:

" ERROR: Access Violation at 0x004B2ABE (tried to read from 0X019ED864) program terminated."

Any idea whats the problem and what is causing it?

Hi Marty,

I get also this message sometimes when I close FireFly; I don't know what is causing it.
Title: Is form or module open with other application

Marty,

I have had that if I open a module or Form with a text editor while FF has it open.  FF requires exclusive access to save any changed code.

Beyond that I am not sure.

Do you have Egrid or SIgrid in your project?  On Win98 this is a sure bomb but also may effect Firefly on other systems if stressed - just guessing on the second part.

Yes, this is a known problem on Win98.... however, I think that Marty said before that he uses WinXP.

Some error may have occured that left something in a funny state.

Reboot and see if the problem comes back.

Make sure you have the latest version and Engine too, that sounds like errors I was getting when the frx files weren't storing the images right.  Fixed now unless you have toolbars...someone reported a problem with those.

Yes, maybe it is time that I do a general FireFly update for all users. I will put the final touches on it this weekend and upload it.
