Where is the .ffp file?

I began a new application on a new W7 laptop after installing FF3.09, PB9.05, and Jose Roca's includes.

I opened FF3 beginning a new .exe project, created two new forms, and generally worked for about two hours.  The project is saved in a fold on a network share.

This morning,  the only thing in the project folder is the Release sub folder and my two .frm files.  I have searched high and low for the .ffp file with no success using multiple search tools and checked all of the sample .ffp files in case I accidentally overwrote one.

I do not know if this file was ever created.

When is this file created during the FF process?  I certainly clicked on the save floppy disk icon several times during the session and compiled several times.

When are the other sub folders like modules, images, and forms created?

Where - O - Where could it be???

OK - I hate when this happens.

The issue is Firefly does not seem to like UNC path names.  I typed the path name into the Project dialog.  If I use the browse function, it browses to it correctly, but the OK button is grayed.

I mapped the UNC root to a drive letter and it works just fine.

One other thing - last night my compile were taking forever - the compiler window would even report as (not responding) and would then complete and the application took FOREVER to load and run.  I thought it was due to the wireless connection.  This morning I am connected Gigabit by wire and it still works the same using the UNC - Surprisingly it works - it is not a permission issue bu FF does not like something about the UNC name.  Using the mapped drive solves all issues.

Should there be a limitation in FF regarding UNC naming?  I would love to get away from mapped drives.

Hi Peter,

I haven't had a need to try a FF project across a UNC path name. I will log this problem and test it on the network at work. Hopefully I can find a simple fix for you.

Maybe I do need 3.10 after all !

I also have another issue with W7 and the Panda firewall not allowing me to allow my program on the network.  I think W7 is the common denominator on this one.

XP Pro has been wonderful.  W7 has some really nice features and I am sure will grow on me - the change seems like it will be difficult.

Hi Peter,

I was finally able to test UNC paths on a network and I noticed several areas in the FF3 code that was causing problems. I have fixed it all up and it seems to working okay now. I'll have the fixes available in the 3.10 update.
