I download and installed Maple Professional today. It is an excellent outline manager, good for keeping notes, information, programming tasks, etc., etc.

A nice side effect - you can convert a file to a windows helpfile (chm). That makes helpfile generation extremely simple.

The price of the program is usually $30.95 but it is free for today (Mar 17, 2011) from Giveaway of the Day - Maple Professional:

I think so too. I've been playing with it a little. It can also generate websites (...of course, since it can generate html helpfiles).

Looks like an interesting application.  I had seen it earlier today, but you never know with what is offered there at times.  I usually take the recommendation of another PB/Firefly user before reviews.  I may end up using it to make help files and webpages more than just storing info.

I'm curious since the activate app only works during the giveaway if it ties the key to a specific machine.  If so I won't be able to install it on my home PC in time.  If you go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Office\Maple Professional and double click the key to see the Hex/Ascii view do your keys start and end with AYYM73/C52XW?  I did test uninstall and manually putting the info in from there and it works fine without the activate app...as long as it doesn't tie to my machine at work I should be good.

Roger,

my key is the same. Installed on my notebook, copied the key, and it worked. So don't worry if you are not at home in time. Just export the registry key on one machine and import on the other.

It doesn't give you so many features for helpfiles / websites as other help authoring tools, but to create chm files or webhelp sites on the fly it is excellent. Learning curve is between nil and nothing (if you find anything in between). The generated html code is also very clear and concise.

Anyone get NeoPaint yesterday?  I downloaded it, but never could install it.  My Anti-Virus kept detecting it as a virus.  I'm guessing because it was extracting a .tmp file and executing it.  I'd think DEP would have stopped it too, but maybe it never got to it either since the Anti-Virus deleted it.  It never really said what virus, just that it was suspicious activity, so my only choice was to disable AV which I didn't want to do.  Is the app even worth it if I already use Fireworks and Xara stuff?
