Firefly 3.7 download links

Paul,

Since I have recently got back into FF, yesterday I attempted to load it on my laptop. It appears that the link of item #3 in the list of items to download may be broken. FF and Jose' wrappers download fine, but the help file, does nothing.

When I tried the "direct link" it didn't work.  No error messages or anything, went thru the username/password login screen, then a blank page came up.

Then I surfed to the download page, and clicked the link... and was able to download.

Hi Again,

Tried a different browser. I used Chrome instead of Firefox and was able to download. Go figure that!
One problem solved. Now all I have to do is figure out how to use it.... Have mercy

Surf = browse

You have probably heard of "Surfing the web".

I prefer browse...  We use browsers not surfers to find things on the internet. I have never heard of anyone calling a browser a surfer (or any other form of the word surf).

You're right. Usually the browser's called "the internet", hence when people deleted the link to their browser(s) from the desktop, they coined the phrase "HELP! I ACCIDENTALLY THE WHOLE INTERNET ..."

We could all probably write books with all the funny things users say and do because they just don't get things or can't correlate two similar ideas.

Shortcuts (links) as you mentioned is a big one.  Ive' had users refer to their "monitor" as their "computer" and those same people usually refer to their "computer" as their "hard drive".

Before the company I worked at had email, they had a folder on a network drive (S:\In) that contained an additional folder for each employee.  The folders name was the employee's name.  They would train users on the use of their "In box".  If someone wanted a file from a coworker, they would ask that they "put a copy in my In box".  They all seemed to have the idea of files & folders as you would see people create folders to segregate collections of related files in their In box. But, every time we hired a new employee, all three of the people who were responsible for setting up new employees (and these were educated people that I would also call intelligent)  would put a request in to Computer Support to create these people an "In box".  I never told them to stop bothering us with such a simple thing, but I did show them how I did it, with an explanation that it was simply a folder with their name. They never got my hint that they could do the same thing. And, I know you are all thinking it, but there was no network-rights issues in play here.  Any user, at that time, could create, modify and delete any file or folder on the S: drive. We did a fair amount of restores to get missing items back.
