I am trying to use the statusbar editor, and can't figure out how to add another panel all the way to the right. The Insert Panel button always inserts BEFORE the last panel.

Thanks,

Dave

Don't you love just how irritating that is ???   :P

A third option, "Append Panel", would be a logical addition. I will add it to the FireFly bug tracker and add it as soon as I can.

What you need to do now is insert the new panel, copy the data from the last panel to the newly inserted panel, and then add your new data to the last panel. Pain in the butt.

Hi Paul,

Glad it's on your list. I was using the copy-from-previous work around, but like you say it's a PITA.

Most Westerners (the bulk of your public I would estimate) think left-to-right, so if anything a single button would be better off as Append than Insert, I think.

Did you ever think of making stuff like the auxilliary editors open source? Maybe have a Plugin Developer Kit?

Not at this time. The FireFly user base is just not large enough. If there were thousands of users then maybe it would make sense. It would be a lot of work to create an Plugin API. Myself and Bruce Brown did it for JellyFish. Given the amount (lack) of use that the JellyFish plugin API got, I would be surprised if I would go through all that pain again for FireFly.  ;)

The Statusbar Insert always bugged me too, some of my early VB code working with Databases did the same thing when inserting records, so I let you go for the time being on it.  One of my last apps I even hand coded the panels...using FF's generated code of course which itself works great!

The Append button has now been added to the StatusBar Editor. You will see it in the next update.

Thank you Paul. What a beautiful thing it is to be heard and to have the solution be so timely. You may be only ONE person doing everything but the plus side of that is that you REALLY care about FireFly, and your customers.

Hoorah for Paul!!

Don't go embarassing me now.  8)

FireFly has come a long way since it was first released in April of '04. Still plenty to do......
