CS_DROPSHADOW and W2K

This one had me going for a day or two.  

Developing on XP, was probably looking for fancy effects, somehow had checked form property ClassStyles/CS_DROPSHADOW.

Tried to run the compiled code on W2K, it runs in the background, but no visible form!  :evil:

Maybe this will save someone else a bit of hair...

Yes, I remember when FireFly first came out and a user reported that this class style only worked on Windows XP. That is why I added "Windows XP" to the description that displays when you click on that class style.

Yup, one of those people was probably me.  I played with all the funky styles and had all kinds of reports that my apps weren't working.  I'd think it would work on Win2K though if it and its IE is fully patched and updated.  I made my dad a 2K system that has everything XP does except themes....including zip folders as well!  Darn Win9x systems are holding back all kinds of enhanced features too.  I end up adding like 50KB+ in file size to all my apps just to support everything.
