Here is a simple way to display PDF files.
I have tested it with XP-SP3 and Win7-32.

Maybe it's a help for someone.

I like DoPDF better:

Have not tried either of these, but for me â€" as a graphic designer, it is very important that the content output this way is displayed correctly.
For years now, I've been using CutePDF (even on 64-bit systems) after Adobes PDF print spooler had some issues "way back" in time.

Sure, but you can create preview for PDF, EPUB, MOBI, CHM, XPS, DjVu, CBZ and CBR Files within your application.  ;D

Thank you for this, Rudolf.

Sumatra is really an excellent tool. It is great ...
- for it's speed.
- it's ease to use.
- because you can use it as plugin on your own forms. (see Rudolf's example)
- because it needs no installation.
- because it is just one file.
- for it's support of so many file formats.
- it's support of many languages for the user interface.

The article on Wikipedia gives a very nice overview of the features:

QuoteSumatraPDF, also known as Sumatra, is a free and open source PDF reader. The program also opens DjVu, EPUB, XPS, CHM, CBZ and CBR and MOBI files.
...
Sumatra has a minimalistic design, with its simplicity attained at the expense of extensive features. For rendering PDFs it uses the MuPDF library.

So if one needs only bitmap rendering of PDF-files, a core part of Sumatra â€" MuPDF ought to be smaller and perhaps quicker ...

... or perhaps not. Couldn't see no library in the download section (checked the "for Windows" package) and the documentation seems to be for deep diving into the source. Then again, the Sumatra page don't seem to be aimed ad library users either.

Think I'm still happy coding with the extensive Debenu Quick PDF Library, capable of both creating/altering and rendering PDF's.

Another helpful feature of SumatraPDF might be the ability to desplay CHM helpfile which can be a problem under Windows 7 and 8. Zoom for CHM files is also a nice feature.
