In the Functions Library dialog they are called My Snippets but on the Right-Click menu in the editor they are called Code Favorite.

Also, only one shows on the editor Right-Click menu ( dash ).

If I choose the "Insert into Editor" option of the Functions Library it inserts the actual text for the examples that came with FF3 but if I create a new one and try it only inserts the name I gave the snippet not the actual text.

Hi David,

The choice of the words "My Snippets" was purely arbitrary on my part. I could have called it "Paul's Functions", "Snippets", or anything else. Actually, you can rename it now to anything that you want. The names on the directory structure is orrelevant. That is why you can add new branches to the tree as you see fit.

The "Code Favorite" indication is set on the 3rd tab (Details) in the Functions Library for the piece of code. You can check "Set as Favorite" or "Expand". Basically, any piece of code in the Functions Library can have these designations - it doesn't matter what branch of the tree it falls in.

Ok.  Think I see better now ...

1) Make a directory under the CodeStore folder calling it whatever you want.  This name appears in the top level of the tree control.

2) Then just check the appropriate check box to display on right-click ( Set as a Favorite ) or put actual code into editor ( Expand ).

Can I change the folder the snippets are stored in?

Paul Squires

Yes - I think that you are right on track with it now.

Sure (well, I am pretty sure that you can. I am not at a computer right now with FF3 installed)  :)
