Hello. I know some of you use Basic for Android (B4A). Did you know that they released B4J for windows-Lunix-OSX and it is FREE. The IDE is about the same as B4A so its easy to go back and forth between them. I compiles to JAVA. I have not tried it much but it seems to work and I know B4A is good.

Donald,

Thanks for mentioning B4J. It looks interesting. I have downloaded the necessary files and have installed but time did not allow for much time to really test it..I have wanted to be able to do cross platform for along time. Mainly because I run Linux on all of my machines but any end user programs have to run on Windows.

I haven't worked with it much but if its anything like B4A then it should be pretty good. Since it will run on multi platforms thats a plus. Java's been around a long while.  There is a lot more than just using it for web sites. Its pretty powerful for mainstream applications also.

If I was younger and was going to be programming for many more years I think I'd use Eclpies with a c/c++ plugin. For me PB 10 will last as long as I'm around so why change. IT's pretty bug free and will do anything I'd ever ask of it. Maybe one day someone who knows what their doing will buy PB and update it to 64bit. I just can't see it forgotten forever. Maybe I'm wrong

I just (well 4 hours ago) received an email from Erel Uziel. Basic4i is just released.

Basic4i is Basic for iOS.
