Path to "what" is not found? The compiler? The resource editor?

What does the error message say exactly?

If FireFly reports that it can not find the compiler then the compiler has not been set up correctly. You can email me your FireFly.ini file and I will check to see if it looks okay.

Hi Dominique,

I received your ini file, thanks. Nothing seems wrong about it. I tried to send you an email but it bounced back to me. Here is what I said:

Hi Dominique,

Is it possible that the Project you are working has its compiler set to
PowerBasic 7 instead of 8 ????

Check "Project Properties" under the "Project" menu and confirm that
"PowerBASIC Windows 8" is set for your Project.

My profile's e-mail adress is correct so i don't know why it bounced, but nevermind !
As i stated by e-mail, that last suggestion was good, when corrected all works ok now !
So the raison why it didn't work is all samples are configured to be compiled with the v7.

Thank's for the help.

I have been using FireFly for a couple of days and it's great. I have successfully made a few test programs. But I just noticed there are 2 examples that come with the program. I cannot compile these. It claims that one or more paths are missing. Going into the Enivornment options, I have PowerBasic 8 set up as the default compiler, and all the paths exist. I even validated them. Every other project compiles with no problem. It's only the 2 tutorial programs that complain about missing paths to the compiler (even though I see them all filled in correctly).

Any thoughts?

Ok, you have the Environment Options correct, but have you set the compiler to "PowerBASIC Windows 8" in the Project Properties for the projects that you are having trouble with?

By default, all of the sample projects are configured for PB 7.

Steve Smith

Yup your right. I don't know why I didn't even look at that. I must have set that enough times to have remembered that by now. Sorry for the false alarm.

Steve

PS: man, that was quick response time!
