I have downloaded and installed FF 1.03.

- Create a new project.

- Double click on OCX/ActiveX from the FF Toolbox to place an ActiveX object on the form

- Goto Properties tab

- Click on OCX_ProgId

- Click on the Elipse

This brings up the COM browser 1.00 (c) on my system with nothing listed in any of the columns on the left hand side.

It says 1152 typelibs found in the StatusBar and if I double click on any of the blank lines it brings up information for the unknown ... at least by me because I can not see anything ... item on the right side.

Sounds like some type of redrawing problem. Try resizing the Browser so that it is no longer full screen. Exit out of FireFly and start FireFly again. Try the Browser once more. any better?

If that doesn't work, try this: The Browser's settings are stored in the FireFly.ini configuration file. Navigate to the four lines COMbrowser top, left, right, bottom and reset their values to 0. Fire up the browser again and see if it resets itself.

Yes, it does.

Tried all this before reporting.

This did not make any difference either.

Anything on this yet Paul?  The COM Browser is basically useless to me.

I purchased eGrid32 today ... it works pretty slick as one of your plugins!

Thanks,

David

Hi David,

I looked at this today but only for a little while. I will have to coordinate with Jose Roca because he is the owner of the source code for the Browser.

As I progress with this problem, I will email you an updated FireFly EXE for you to test. Would you have any concerns with that - can I send the EXE to the email that you used to registered with on this forum?

David Martin

Understood ... I will be happy to test anything you come up with.

I have sent my email address to support@planetsquires

Thanks,

David

Paul, and everyone.

I did some testing on several ActiveX Components and found the results interesting.

1)  After placing the ActiveX Control on the form, setting the id - and executing the program... (no problem).

2)  However, (during runtime) - by clicking on the control - (the very first time) - there is a refresh problem...  The control doesn't refresh automatically.

3)  However,  (during runtime), when I resize the form just once,  the control refreshes correctly from here on out!

Strange - however, passing this along for your FYI!

Thanks
Mike

Thanks Mike,

Has anyone else experienced their OCX/ActiveX controls not redrawing correctly at design time and/or at runtime?

Paul,

Some other notes...

The ActiveX Components (that I have noticed this in) related to scroll-bars that were part of the ActiveX Compoent.  I am still doing some other testing... and will let you know if it's just related to the ones I have already tested.

(edited: Sent you an email with a pdf file showing before/after).

Thanks
Mike
